LED Retrofit Program:

Introducing Sourcetec Energy LED Lighting

LED stands for Light-Emitting Diode. It consists of a semiconductor diode which when energized emits light in a process called electroluminescence.

LED Technology has great advantages!

8 – Generous government incentives on retrofit up to $ 638.00 per fixture

Many provinces, municipalities, towns, townships, buildings, parks, hotels/motels, car dealerships, golf courses, parking lots , plazas / malls etc… are considering outdoor LED lighting retrofits for the above benefits.

To sum it up, please see example below:

Example:

10 lights (1000 w/ea) High Pressure Sodium (HPS), lit 10 hours a day = 100,000 watt per hour of consumption a day= 100 Kilo Watt/hour/day

On the average the cost per KW/h is $ 0.13 plus and average of $ 0.06 for delivery, so 100KW x $0.19= $ 19 a day of consumption

$ 19 a day x 365/year= $ 6,935.00/year

HPS bulbs need to be replaced once every 2 years at a cost of $ 125.00/ea for a total amount of $ 1,250.00.The yearly cost will be $ 625 to be added to the annual cost of hydro of $6,935.00+ $625.00= $7,560.00 per year

For 3 years of use: 3 x $ 7,560.00= $ 26,689.00

For 10 years of use: 10 x $ 7,560.00= $ 75,600.00

Retrofit LED, to replace 1000 W HPS equals to 400 W LED

10 lights (400 w/ea) LED, lit 10 hours a day = 40,000 w/h of consumption a day= 400 KW/h/day

On the average the cost per KW/h is $ 0.13 plus delivery of an average of $ 0.06 so 40KW x $0.19= $ 7.60 a day of consumption

$7.60 a day x 365days/year = $ 2,774.00/year

No maintenance is required!

For 3 years of consumption: 3 x $ 2,774.00 = $ 8,322.00

For 10 years of consumption: 10 x $ 2,774.00=- $ 27,740.00

Over the course of 3 years the saving is over $ 18,367.00

Over the course of 10 years the saving is over $ 47,860.00

The total cost of the retrofit for 10 (1000 w HPS) and replaced by 400 W LED is $ 2,038.00/ea, 10 x $2,038.00 = $ 20,380.00

Government and LDC incentive of $ 638.00/ea so 10 x $ 638.00 = $ 6,380.00 in total incentives (some conditions apply, pre-approval is a must)

Total final cost to client is $ 14,000.00

Return on Investment is approximately 2.5 years

After retrofit cost, the saving over the period of 10 years is more than $ 33,000.00

Site assessment and recommendations of LED replacements, quote presentation, initiation of incentive program on behalf of clients after preapproval of quote and PO, after incentive approval, Sourcetec will replace all old fixtures by new LED fixtures, only by qualified installers and electricians, ESA approval, recycling of old ones and obtain certificates for the LDC for incentive remittance.

If the new LED lights produce over 2000 KW/h a year in reduced hydro consumption from the old lights, then the project most likely will be qualified. For equivalent lighting chart, please see below:

All retrofit projects must be preapproved for incentives prior to commencing the retrofit work…

Not all retrofit projects are equal in incentives and savings.

For your information, the greater number of LEDs replacement to conventional lighting may translate into better return on investment.

The formulation used above is based on an average of $ 0.13/KW and an average of $ 0.06 KW for delivery.

For your information, the cost of hydro and delivery may vary from one region to another. Only hydro bills of each project will determine the exact cost of hydro and its delivery cost.

Please note, the savings calculated in this presentation may not represent the actual and/or the final savings, each retrofit application may differ in savings because of different variables, i.e.…type of light, cost of hydro, LED replacement, approval of incentives etc…
